The PawSox Join BWB For The 2019 Season!
BWB is very excited to announce that we will have a new franchise take the field in 2019! Taking the place of the Mustangs who franchise reign ended with the retirement of their captain Griffin, the PawSox were chosen out of multiple possible options to fill the gap. The team will captained by rookie Ben Jacobson who spent a 2018 series with the Panthers against the Kraken. Accompanying Ben will be Tarif Sabur who was first signed by the Manatees in 2015 and subbed in for the North Division All-Star team that year helping to lead them to a 12-11 win. Since them Tarif appeared on the roster of the Panthers in 2016 and 2017 but wouldn't play in another game until 2018 in the same series against the Kraken.

Both Ben and Tarif have played and captained in all three seasons in the Dinger League BWB Summer League and have show great promise and potential. Ben is most notably known for his bat but has been a well above-average defender in the field as well. On the other hand, Tarif is most known for his pitching and his effective offspead in conjunction with his overpowering fast ball while he has also shown great potential with his power at the plate as well. Both PawSox also have plenty of Baseball experience which often translates in an easy transition to Wiffleball abilities. Tarif will be tasked with most of the pitching duties while Ben will work to develop his abilities on the rubber in order to create a one-two punch to combine with the already promising offense.

The new franchise has spun into the South Division with The Process and Kraken for the 2019 season meaning that 12 of their 24 games will come against two 2018 playoff teams with a 29-19 cumulative record. It will not be an easy road to get to the postseason in 2019 but new teams always have their fair share of doubts. Of course we will have to see the team in action to get a better idea at how they will compete in 2019 but there is a great amount of upside for the new franchise.

The 2017 BWB Season Is Close
After a long offseason BWB Wiffleball is upon us. The four captains of the 2016 playoff teams are returning with new additions of Tochi and Evan replacing Griffin and AJ. This year each team will start with a captain, a co-captain, and the rest of players will be drafted. This season will begin in March and will be a 40 game season. We hope this year will be the best yet! Here is the 2017 draft results:

Eagles Make A Surprising Move By Adding Austin
Earlier in the week the Aces went into selling mode. This was expected around the league because of the 5-20 performance this season. AJ put everyone on the block but Austin drew the most interest. The Hotdoggers were a early candidate because Darien would be absent from the team for a month, but the Doggers stayed put knowing that they would need all the help they could get to get the to the playoffs without Victor in 2017. The Bulldogs were also interested but quickly backed off once the Dashers started winning and getting close to take the two seed over them. The Eagles were the last team involved and took action to bolster the lineup for the playoff push. The confirmed deal was Austin for the Eagles second round draft pick which is the 3rd pick in that round. This deal will give the Eagles a leadoff guy with one of the best OBP in the league.

RULE 5 DRAFT IS COMING UP! SO WHO ARE THE FAVORITES?
We are a day away from the third Rule 5 Draft. In this draft there is 1 round for teams to pick up any minor leaguers. If a player is not selected by the end he returns to his former team and if someone is selected and not playing well they get returned to their former team instead of being released. This can help teams add some dept. So here is the top minor leaguers list.

1. Aces: Victor
2. Aces: Sam
3. Hotdoggers: Tarif
4. Eagles: Nima
5. Eagles: Anthony K
6. Aces: Sean
7. Bulldogs: Dean
8. Eagles: Zach
9. Eagles: Nate

ALEX TRADED AGAIN
The Bulldogs and Panthers made a big deal today. The Bulldogs traded 10 mil to the Panthers for Alex and Victor A. Peter announced after making the trade that he wants to go solo. Victor is a veteran player but will not make a big impact, Griffin optioned him to the minors after making the trade. Alex is #2 on the top prospects list and brings good talent to the Dogs. With the season still young we will see how this affects each team. -Griffin

EAGLES AND PANTHERS MAKE HUGE TRADE
The Eagles needing players due to Parker going on the DL were looking to acquire TJ. Peter has been looking at Alex for quite some time. The two teams came to a deal where they swapped TJ and Alex. TJ made the NWLA's all rookie second team and Alex is #2 on the top prospects list. Alex pitched well in the playoffs and TJ is a good hitter and pitcher. Time will tell which team this will benefit more.

               ACES ROUGH START
The Aces captained by AJ have started the season 0-7 with 2 losses to the Dashers, 2 losses to the Panthers, and 3 losses to the Bulldogs. But of these 7 games 6 of them were losses by less that 2 runs. The Aces pitching is the issue, they are hitting fine scoring 68 runs in 7 games. The pitching however has let up 86 runs in 7 games. AJ's hitting is doing all right with 7 HRs and 34 RBIs. Evan however is underperfoming based on him being #1 on the top prospects list. Evan only has 16 RBIs and 2 HRs. There is still 33 games for the Aces to turn it around but being in such a tough division will make it hard. -Griffin

GRIFFIN CAPTAINS NEW TEAM IN LEAGUE
The Bulldogs are joining BWB Wiffleball. This team will be captained by Griffin. This new team will replace the  Squirrels in the South division.

BWB Teams Compared To MLB Teams
I've put some thought into what Major League teams are most like our BWB teams. This is the result:

Eagles-St Louis Cardinals: The Eagles are the most like the Cardinals becuase they have a great history of winning.
Panthers-New York Yankees: The Panthers are most like the Yankees becuase they are historically a great team and everyone around the league really dislikes them.
Squirrels-Colarado Rockies: The Squirrels are most like the Rockies because they are centered around one player just like the Rockies.
Aces-Minnesota Twins: The Aces are most like the Twins becuase they are a so-so team which could very well make the playoffs but they have the best farm system in BWB.
Hotdoggers-Detroit Tigers: The Hotdoggers are most like the Tigers because they have to veteran stars in Brandon and Victor and a bunch of decent players. Just like the Tigers they have playoff hopes every year.

Dashers- Kansas City Royals: The Dashers are most like the Royals because they have a great bullpen and might be the suprise team of the season. By Griffin

James Is Sent Packing To Vinny's Dashers For A Big Return
After months of negotiation, James is on the move, he will be for the first time in his career not on the Aces. The Aces signed him as a non-drafted free agent prior to the 2014 regular season. James was the surprise of the season and had a great year putting up 4 home runs, 35 rbis, 46 hits, and an era of 6.90. New captain Vinny made it his mission to improve his new team by adding James. To accomplish this he traded Tochi, Peter S, Sam, and Sean for James. We will see how James plays this year with opening day fast approaching. -By Griffin

Peter S Retires

Shortly after being traded for what seemed like the hundredth time as of late Peter S announced his retirement from BWB. Peter put up 13 home runs in his career and is the first former captain since Kento to retire.  -By Griffin

The Mustangs Franchise Comes To A End
On Friday Griffin agreed to spend his last year as a player and so him and his team will become free agents. This idea was suggested to even out the teams for the 2016 season because the Mustangs ended the 2015 season with a 25 game losing streak and forfeited 20 games. Also this will give him a chance to play on a winning team before he rides off in the sunset. Rumors have heard that he could sign with the Eagles or Squirrels. We look forward to 2016. By Parker

With The Blockbuster Done Are Teams Done Dealing?
Christmas is almost here and these last three months have been very important to teams as they try and build the best roster for 2016. The Aces just pulled off a blockbuster and probably have there team for next year. The Panthers will base there team on TJ and Austin and so are likely done with moves. The Eagles have not made any trades but have talked to a few teams about Alex but no team has matched him yet as the best deal they got was for TJ straight up. The Hotdoggers have been quiet since acquiring Victor and probably have no need to get anyone else. The Squirrels will ride the first half with Vinny and the second half with Victor so the Squirrels are set. The Mustangs look like the same 2015 team after trading James and Victor so many moves are needed but it will be hard to find a suiter. By Parker

Aces And Panthers Strike A Three Player Blockbuster
To enter the 2016 season the Aces will be in a very tough division with the Panthers and the Eagles. So to have to chance to compete, the Aces had to make some moves and they started this by acquiring David and James but today they struck a deal sending glove glover Austin to the Panthers for Evan and Jake. The Aces wanted a pitcher but AJ had to give a good player in return so when the Panthers put Evan on the market the Aces acted. The Panthers kept the offer on the table because AJ wanted to talk about the deal with his team since Austin is the face of the franchise and in the end the Aces got a #2 pitcher to help compete in the new tougher division. Sean's Career Coming To A End?
On Monday Sean who is a three year veteran going into his forth year was picked in the rule 5 draft. The Hotdoggers added him at the deadline last year for some extra pop for the playoff push but did not play. In fact he did not appear in a single game in 2015. Well Sean has great career stats with a .650 career average with 11 home runs, 101 RBI's and a career 8.38 ERA. He has been with many teams including the Panthers in 2013 fall and then for the regular season he was chosen to captain Kings for 2013-2014 and lead his team to the championship in 2014. So we will see if Sean can make a comeback as he already won MIP in 2014 so will he play or retire?

2015 In Review
The Eagles won the world series, their 2nd in franchise history, but they had a bit of a disappointing year stat wise, they had only the 3rd best ERA in the league, they came in 2nd in the league in RBIs, 2nd in home runs, and 3rd in average. The Panthers made it to the world series their 3rd appearance in franchise history they led the league in most categories such as HRs, batting average, and RBIs, they came in 2nd in ERA. The Aces made the playoffs for the 2nd time in franchise history, they came in 5th in ERA, 6th in average, tied for 4th in RBIS, and 3rd in HRS. The Squirrels made the playoffs for the 2nd time in franchise history, they came in 4th in ERA, 2nd in average, 3rd in RBIs, and 5th in HRs. The Manatees came up short of the playoffs but still had a good season, they came in first in ERA, they came in 4th in average, tied for 4th in RBIs, and came in 4th in HRs. The Mustangs had a disappointing season, coming in last in ERA, 5th in average, last in RBI's, and last in HRs. The non captain MVPs for each team were: Eagles-TJ, Panthers-Victor, Aces-James, Squirrels-Vinny, Manatees-Tariff, Mustangs-Tochi. The top prospects that lived up to the potential were TJ, Victor, and James. The final standings were 1. Eagles 2. Panthers 3. Aces 4. Squirrels 5. Manatees 6. Offseason Update
While the Blitzball season wraps up Wiffleball captains are busy trying to build a contender. The Eagles are trying to improve their roster with Minor Leaguers such as Anthony K but they haven't made a deal yet. The Panthers are looking to deal Evan possibly but a deal is very unlikely right now. The Hotdoggers have officially traded James and 2 draft picks to the Mustangs for Victor, the Hotdoggers had James on the block for what seemed like forever. The Aces snagged Gold Glover David from the Mustangs for their Amateur draft pick Nick. The Aces attempted to get James from the Hotdoggers but they didn't give a good enough deal. The Aces are also interested in Peter S. The Mustangs tried to trade for Tochi and Austin both deals fell through and they had 2 trades that almost sent Mas to the stangs. But it was a productive week because they got Nick from the Aces and traded Victor for James. The offseason is far from over and with contacts and cap space coming into play we could see more moves very soon. By Griffin 11/21/15

POWER RANKINGS UPDATE!
Chuck Norris will remain the same but the power rankings will now be once a month due to all the teams advancing in their schedules and skipping some games to get to others. The new power ranking will include the teams record for the month and how each player did. This will be a great add on!

The Mustangs should rename themselves the blockbuster trades.
First they made the questionalable trade for Vinny. Then they pulled Victor from the Panthers. Then they got Tochi from the Eagles. But this time they traded Peter S and 500k for James. Peter S was requesting to go to the Aces and Griffin would only do it for James. After what seemed like hours of negotiating the two clubs came to an agreement. James became a Mustangs and Peter S became a Wicked Ace. Where does this leave the Aces now? With there star just traded and there captain on the DL until further notice they will have to rely on Victor, Peter, and David to keep them in the playoff race. This trade will boost the Mustangs adding a great hitter to there lineup. By Griffin

Tochi Traded!
The Eagles picked up another non drafted free agent today in Will. Because of this they had a six player team and had to send someone down. seeing the opportunity to easily get an all star Mustangs manager Griffin offered on Tochi and the two teams came to an agreement. The Eagles will send Tochi to the Mustangs for 7 mil. The trade will help the Mustangs pitching and offence and it will help them secure a playoff spot. But some are asking the same questions about the Panthers will all this new talent play? And was Will worth an all star veteran in Tochi? We will see.

We are a day away from the first Rule 5 Draft. In this draft there is 1 rounds for teams to pick up any minor leaguers. If a team wants to keep a minor leaguer they have to get him in the draft or if the player is not selected by the end he returns to his former team. This can help teams add some dept. Eagles Make A Unexpected Addition
On Thursday the Eagles offered the Panthers for TJ. At first Peter said he was not trading but since TJ is owed 10 mil over the next three years it was a chance to get the contract off the budget. So the trade sent TJ to the Eagles for 4.5 mil and the Eagles have to pay TJ's contract. This trade will help the pitching and offense to help this team seal the 1 slot for the South. In process of roster moves the Eagles optioned Zach to the minors.

Eagles sign Alex
On Wednesday the Eagles signed Alex to a 1yr 3 mil deal. The rookie was scouted by three teams including the Eagles, Mustangs and Panthers. All teams put out contracts but the Eagles contract was the most interesting to him. This deal will help the Eagles get another big rookie and another big playoff piece. In process of roster moves the Eagles optioned Donne to the minors.

Mustangs strike again but this time was a surprise
Over the last week there have been many rumors about Victor being traded or released. The 3 year veteran wanted out from Peters Panthers. He said they were in the tank and did not have any hopes in them for the future. He convinced Peter to put him on the block and the Mustangs went for him. After trading a allstar Vinny to the Squirrels a week ago it left the Mustangs without a ace. Yes Griffin is on a role but they still needed a ace pitcher to pitch against better teams. So when Victor hit the block it was a not miss opportunity. The Vinny trade left them with 34.5 mil to trade so this was the key part to the trade. When the trade was all sad and done Victor was shipped off to the Mustangs for 16 mil. "We need that pitching after the loss of Vinny" Griffin said on Monday.

Griff’s Week 4 Preview
Week 4 will be a big week for Division races. In the north the 1st place and 4-4 Aces take on the 2nd Place and 2-3 Manatees in a two games series. If the Manatees sweep they take first in the division if they split the games the 2 teams are tied for first and if the Aces sweeps his one game lead grows to 3 so this week could be a lead growing or losing week for the Aces. The last place Panthers have a bye.
In the South division the 1st place and 5-1 Eagles face the 2nd place and 6-2 Mustangs with the same situations as the North this could be a big week in the South pennant race. The last place Squirrels have a bye week.
With no interleague matchups this week we will see a big shift in the division standings.

Squirrels pull off a blockbluster trade with Mustangs
On wednesday the Squirrels and Mustangs pulled off a deal that sent Vinny to the Squirrels in return for $30. This deal will help the Squirrels pitching greatly and help them make a playoff run. Also the Mustangs got 30 bucks for the huge offseason after the 2015 season. So in a way the deal was fair. But will Vinny turn out good or bad? And will the money for the Mustangs be worth it? We will see!

Panthers by Griffin
Why does the Panthers record look like it does? Well at first everyone said becuase they played the best team which was true but then they go 2-2 against the Aces and Manatees
Which are respectable teams but the Pamthers were supposed to dominate this division. Experts never could have predicted the Aces being in first. Victor A did ok in spring but hasnt played yet this season. Trevor had a decent few games against the aces but nothing exceptional. Victor C did not live up to full expectations in his first few games. So if TJ is a fail the best prospect prospect team in the league coming in will not live up to expectations. Hopefully the Panthers can turn around their season but this team does not look great with almost half the number of losses from the Panthers in 2014. Of course the 20-0 destruction of the aces could turn the season around. By Griffin.

Biggest Takeaways from first 3 season games
. Pitching was a surprise for both teams. Both teams showed decent pitching in the first 3 games but this will unlikely continue during the season.
. James will be a top Rookie of the year candidate. James put on a show on the first 3 games batting .950 with 2 homer and 7 RBIS. This will not end he will probably be a big part of the Aces season and could become a big name.
. AJ is the captain and pitched a complete game but most likely this will be lucky. He will not be as dominate but will probably be a just below .500 record pitcher.
. Austin will just get better. Just as James did Austin surprised BWB with 4 homers in 3 games including walk-offs in both wins. This is just what they need, a big bat and nice arm. He could also be a big part to the North pennant.
. Vinnys power from golden stick will come back. Only 1 homer and 5 hits was not the Vinny way. Most likely this was just a bad week because in the future he is bound to hit more homers and be the Mustangs biggest offensive threat.
